인사말
동서악회(The Society for East-West Music)의 홈페이지 방문을 진심으로 환영합니다.
동서악회는 우리 전통음악을 배우고자 모인 작곡가들과 전문 국악인들이 주축이 되어 2010년 발족되었습니다.
"법고창신(法古創新) 옛 것을 본받아 새로운 것을 창조하다"는 기치 아래 작곡가들은 지속적으로 국악 연주회원들에게 우리 악기와 소리를 배우고, 매년 선정한 공연 주제에 관한 연구를 병행하는 등 연주자들과 긴밀하게 소통하며 독창적이고 진정성 있는 작품을 배출해내고 있습니다.
2011년부터 시작한 "우리가락 Project"는 동서악회의 대표적 시리즈 공연으로서 우리 전통음악 중 대중에게 친숙하지는 않지만 예술성을 지니며 학술적으로 연구가 필요한 음악을 발굴하여 공연예술콘텐츠로 제작해나가는 작업을 하고 있습니다.
다른 전통음악에 비해 다소 생소하게 느껴질 수 있겠으나 이러한 작업의 가치를 믿고 있기에 신념을 가지고 디디는 우리의 행보가 한국창작음악계에 생기를 불어넣고 발전에 기여하는 밑거름이 될 것을 확신합니다.

Welcome to The Society for East-West Music.
The Society for East-West Music was established in 2010 by a group of contemporary composers and professional Korean traditional performers to learn our traditional music.
Under the banner of "creating new by learning from history“, we have been producing original and authentic works, by learning our traditional instruments and sounds from our traditional musicians, and studying selected topics on music concerts every year.
Starting in 2011, "Our Melody Project" is a representative series performance of the East-West Music, and we are working on discovering music that is not familiar to the public but requires academic research and producing it as a performing arts content.
It may seem somewhat unfamiliar compared to other traditional music, but we believe in the value of this work. Moreover, we are confident that it will serve as a foundation for revitalizing and contributing to the development of the Korea’s creative music industry.
